Deborah Allen Johnson, 69, of Galesburg, died at 2:49 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2025 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.
She was born September 7, 1955 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of David Buell and Barbara Moore (Brooks) Allen. Deborah was reared and educated in Galesburg graduating from Galesburg High School in 1974. She then became an RN and dedicated nearly 40 years to that profession. Her last job was as a dialysis instructor with Fresenius Dialysis Care in Peoria. She Retired from that position in 2021.
Left to cherish her memory is one daughter, Sarah B. Johnson; one stepdaughter, Rebecca Johnson; one stepson, Todd Johnson; one granddaughter, Emma L. Racke; one brother, James (Kathleen) Allen of Baraboo, Wisconsin; and one sister, Katherine Allen (Mark Lause) of Galesburg. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, David “Paul” Allen.
Deborah was an excellent cook. She loved all animals, especially her late dog, Elvis. She sang in her church choir at the First United Methodist Church in Galesburg and also participated in a number of Choral Dynamics productions.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Western Illinois Animal Rescue (WIAR).
