Deborah “Debby” Jane Kremer of Chapel Hill, North Carolina passed away peacefully after an extended illness on June 22, 2025. Debby was born on January 23, 1949 in Northampton, Pennsylvania.

Growing up in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, she met her future husband at Liberty High School. She and Don were married on June 27, 1970 after she graduated from Kutztown University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. The newlyweds settled in central Pennsylvania where Debby taught kindergarten and second grade and where their two sons were born.

Don’s work assignments subsequently took them to Albany, Georgia, Flemington, New Jersey, Dorado, Puerto Rico and Harrisonburg, Virginia. Debby made many friends at every stop, usually on the tennis courts. She completed her Master of Education degree at Bloomsburg University after the move to Georgia. After Don’s retirement, they lived in Palm Coast, Florida, Hellertown, Pennsylvania and Pittstown, New Jersey before finally settling in Chapel Hill to be closer to her grandson and his family.

Debby enjoyed reading, cooking, tennis, classical music, celebrating holidays with her family, good restaurants with a nice bottle of wine, vacations at the beach and travel. She and Don were able to experience a number of her favorite operas in New York, Sydney, Milan, Venice and London. Evenings or afternoon concerts with the Philadelphia or North Carolina Orchestras were treasured moments. Debby will be remembered for her kindness and the patience that came from raising two active boys.

Debby is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Don: son Douglas, wife Leanne and beloved grandson Liam of Chapel Hill, North Carolina and son Gregory and wife Banu of Leiden, the Netherlands. Also surviving are her sister Nancy Frantz (Gary) of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, brother David Moschini (Suzanne) of Bath, Pennsylvania and brother James Moschini of Warrington, Pennsylvania.

She was predeceased by her mother, Sarah Louise Botto and her father, Lester Moschini.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the UNC Lineberger Cancer Center, to whom the family extends sincere gratitude for the care and compassion during Debby’s illness.
