In Loving Memory of Deborah Sue Lovering
April 3, 1956 – September 3, 2025

Most knew her by the name Susie, a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who lived her entire life in Lakeland. She passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025 after a long health battle. Her life was a testimony of unwavering faith in Jesus and steadfast love for her family.

Susie met the love of her life, her late husband John Lovering, and together they shared a beautiful 34-year marriage. From their love came their two precious daughters - Allison Lovering (43) and Melanie Lovering (38) - whom they loved and cherished dearly. Susie's life was centered around her family, and everything she did reflected her servant's heart and her devotion to those she loved.

In her early years, she worked as an assistant at Dr. Johnson's pediatrics office, where she brought comfort and care to countless children and their families. Later, she joined her husband in running their Little Debbie franchise for many years, meeting wonderful people who became lifelong friends. In her later career, Susie worked at GEICO, where she adored her coworkers and found great joy and fulfillment in her work.

Susie is preceded in death by her father William "Billy" Jordan, her mother Barbara Alice Jordan, her beloved husband John Lovering, and her youngest brother Monty Jordan.

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her daughters Allison and Melanie; her son-in-law Harley, whom she loved dearly and who reminded her so much of her John; her treasured grandchildren Skylar, Chris, Zachary, Austin-John (AJ), Haley, and Katie; and her precious first great-grandson Chevy. She is also survived by her oldest brother Tony Jordan, her sister-in-law Rikki Jordan, and the beautiful niece who gave her the honor of becoming an aunt, Tiffany Jordan Bacon.

To her grandchildren and great-grandson, Susie's love was immeasurable. Skylar, her first granddaughter, gave her the greatest joy of becoming a Nana, a role she treasured with all her heart. Zachary and Austin, her two boys, filled her with pride and delight as she loved hearing about their football journeys and cheered them on every step of the way. Haley and Katie, her sweet bonus granddaughters, may have only known her for a short time, but Susie cherished every moment she got to spend with them. And Chevy, her first great-grandson, blessed her with the honor of becoming a great-grandmother - a title that brought her endless happiness. To each of you, know that she will always be watching over you. Make Nana proud, for her love and spirit will forever live within you.

While Susie will be missed beyond words, we take comfort in knowing she is in the arms of Jesus. It brings peace to know that she has seen the face of God, something we all long for as we walk our own journeys of faith. We know she will be watching over her family and friends until the day we are all reunited in His glorious presence.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for friends and family to gather, share memories, and honor the beautiful life of Susie. Please contact her daughter Melanie for further details.

Until we meet again, Susie - rest in the everlasting arms of our Savior.
