Her Legacy Deborah Ann MacKenzie, 66, passed away March 13, 2022. She was born on May 2, 1955, in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Thomas Sabolich and Jolene(McGlone)Sabolich. Debbie graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in social work. She was a devoted social worker and spent 20 years working for Washtenaw County Community Mental Health. She was guardian to a very special client, Steve, up until her passing. Debbie was very creative – she enjoyed drawing, collecting and painting rocks that she found along the shores of Lake Michigan, and making special artwork for her loved ones. She wrote songs and poetry, and enjoyed playing guitar. Debbie had a great love for animals and cared for many cats that she rescued from the humane society. She was a huge U of M football fan and never missed the chance to watch or be at a game. Her favorite times were family activities, and going on family trips and vacations that were full of adventure and laughter. Debbie was proud of her heritage and enjoyed learning about her genealogy. She was very involved in her church, Bible Study Fellowship and had loving relationships with her sisters in Christ. She had a meaningful friendship with her brother in Christ, Pastor Dwayne Richardson, who was a great comfort and support to her over the years. Debbie had a very close relationship with her family and had a special bond with her son, Jason, and her nieces and nephews. Her favorite sayings were "Love you more" and "Go Blue!" Debbie would like to be remembered for her love of her son and family, and her love of laughter.
