Deborah Ann Hester Olmstead, 68, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. Debbie was born June 8, 1955, in Mecklenburg County, but was a lifelong resident of Mount Holly, NC.
Debbie is survived by her two sons, Jimmy Honeycutt Jr. (Elizabeth) of Mount Holly, NC, and Aaron Olmstead of Pittsburgh, PA; her brother-in-law,Chris Fox; her nephew, Curtis Fox; her nieces, Christina, Leslie, Shannon, Mandi, and Kristen
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy and Barbara Hester, also of Mount Holly NC; her daughter, Elizabeth Sue Olmstead; her brother, Tommy Hester, Jr; her sister, Karen Hester Fox; her grandparents; Clarence and Minnie Hester and Jim and Lizzie Copper.
Debbie was an accomplished seamstress, who made clothes and Halloween costumes for herself, family, and friends. She worked at Food Lion for 17 years, the better part of that time as a store manager. She then worked at Trane and Wells Fargo until her retirement. Debbie enjoyed being outdoors, watching and attending sporting events, especially her sons, as well as live music. She also loved vacationing at both the beach and the mountains. She was devoted to her work, family and friends. Her laughter and presence were unmatched and will be greatly missed.
A service to celebrate the life of Debbie Olmstead will be held Saturday, March 9 at Woodlawn Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 2pm followed a memorial service at 3pm.
