Deborah Perkoski Obituary

Deborah E. (Osterby) Perkoski, 76, of Newington, passed away on December 23, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Edward Perkoski for 53 years. Deborah was born in Hartford on November 24, 1947, daughter to the late Peter and Veronica Osterby. She was a lifelong Newington resident and member of St. Mary's Church. Most importantly, Deborah was a devoted wife, nurturing mother/nana, and loyal friend. She enjoyed trips to Mohegan Sun, playing cards and fantasy football. In the summertime, Deborah could be found by the pool basking in the sun with a Coca-Cola in hand. She always cherished the opportunities to babysit and spoil her grandchildren.

Deborah is survived by her husband, Ed; sons Todd Perkoski and his wife Melinda, Robert Perkoski and his wife Christina, Chad Perkoski and his partner Erin Zelazny, and Ryan Perkoski; daughter Ashley Mercier and her husband Brandon; grandchildren Zachary, Lillyan, Cameron, Chase, Asha, and Madison, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers' Peter and Robert Osterby, sister Elizabeth Pike, sister-in-law Gloria Giansanti, and niece Amanda Osterby.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Deborah's family on Friday, December 29, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Home at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Newington. She will be laid to rest in West Meadow Cemetery. Debbie loved her family and was the center of all occasions. She put up with Ed and all the dogs and never complained about her health.
Wow, she is still missed and in my prayers.

Dear Eddy and family
I am so sorry to learn of Debby's passing. She was one of a kind full of laughter and fun, and never afraid to let you know exactly what she thought!! I remember her as a "straight shooter" speaking her mind - especially years ago at the soccer games with the kids. Hold the memories close and there she will be - in your heart always.

Sincerely
Harriet Roman
