West Branch- Deborah Sue Shipley was born December 1, 1952, in North English, Iowa. She was the daughter of Max Ellsworth and Joan Virginia (Crawford) Wade. She graduated from English Valleys High School in 1970. Debbie worked for Shellar Globe in Iowa City for many years. She enjoyed baking, cooking, fishing, being out doors, watching John Wayne movies and “Gunsmoke”, the color pink and spending time with her family. Debbie died on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at her home in West Branch at the age of 70 years.
She is survived by her children Jamie (Sara) Carmichael of Muscatine, Suzanna (Dalius) Kazlauskas and Shannon Carmichael all of West Branch; eight grandchildren Cody Carmichael, Tiphani Carmichael, Devin Kazlauskas, Izaiah Carmichael, Justyce Jones, Emma Kazlauskas, Johnny Patterson and Dilan Kazlauskas; four great grandchildren Dominic Cruz, Joshua Cruz, Rowan Carmichael and Kayson Nolan; a sister Marsha (Dan) Vinson of Lena, Illinois; two brothers Mike Wade and Jeff (Cindy) Wade all of North English; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents and two sisters Roxine Van Dee and Jackie Eckert.
Celebration Of Life Visitation will be held 4:00 - 6:00 pm on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. Memorials may be given to Iowa City Hospice. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
