Deborah JoAnn Smith, 64, of D’Iberville, Mississippi, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
Born on February 28, 1961, in Biloxi, Mississippi, Deborah was the beloved daughter of Herman and Beulah Smith. She was a proud graduate of Biloxi High School and Jeff Davis Community College. She also completed culinary school. Deborah was known for her caring heart and dedicated her life to helping others. She was especially known for her wonderful cooking, always having the best snacks; and for always making sure everyone around her felt loved and cared for.
Deborah had a joyful spirit and found happiness in cooking, shopping, and spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She also had a special love for dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Beulah Smith; her brothers, Fredrick Smith, Herman Smith Jr., Milton Smith, and Lee Smith; and her sister, Gwen Smith.
She is survived by her spouse, Walter Wallace; her children, Sylvester “Mickey” Smith, Trozell Michael, and William Martell “Scooter” Smith; her grandchildren, Destiny Nicole Smith and Demetrius “Nicholas” Smith; her great grandchild, Demetruis G. “Meechie” Smith; her siblings, Ethel “Mae Mae” Curry, Hazel Price, FloRinda Smith, Robert Smith, Bessie Lea Ratliff, and Stanley Roger Smith; as well as many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
Deborah’s warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
