Deborah Sue Thompson was born October 8, 1953 to the late Willie and Pearl Thomas-Thompson in America, Illinois. Sue, as she was called, accepted Christ and was baptized at eleven years old. Her membership was with First Freewill Baptist Church on Pearl Street in Mound City. She attended Love Joy Elementary School previously located in Mound City. In the seventh grade Sue Started Meridian Elementary School and was a 1972 graduate of Meridian High School.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Sr. and Pearl Thompson; grandparents James (aka Jack) and Florence Cole- Thompson and grand parents Ernest and Velma Flenoi-Thomas. Her brothers Willie Jr. and Joseph Thompson and a one sister Joyce Ann Thompson. She was also preceded by aunts Velma Thomas- White, Alpha Thomas- Shaw, Ernestine Thomas- Senter, Laura Thompson- Terry, and Virginia Thompson- Chambers, her uncles Willey, Julius, Oliver, Henry, Robert, Earl and James Thompson.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Sean Thompson and daughters, Yolanda and Ashley Thompson. Her brother Ernest (Joyce) Thompson and sister Sheila Thompson, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She also leaves one aunt Alma (aka Peggy) Thompson, one uncle Carl Thompson, Nephew Willie Thompson, III and niece Lashanda Thompson-Willer, four special cousins Rhonda, Sheryl, Tammy and Tina and a host of cousins other relatives and friends.
There will be no services for Deborah Sue Thompson Cremation rites will be accorded. Professional services Entrusted to Massie Funeral Home in Mounds, Illinois. Online condolences may be left at massiefuneralhome.com
