Deborah Weaver Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 27, 2025.
Deborah Suzanne "Debbie" Weaver, 73, of York, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, in York. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Born on March 23, 1952, in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, Debbie was the daughter of the late James T. Long and Marian M. Long. She grew up in Towanda, PA alongside her siblings and carried the warmth of her hometown with her throughout her life.

Debbie was a devoted wife to the late Ronald Weaver of York, Pennsylvania. Together they built a life centered around family and shared values. She was a loving mother to Erica D. Roop of York, PA, and Damian J. Herring of Tampa, FL. Her legacy continues through her ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.

She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters Carolyn L. Hershberger (William) of Bluffton, SC, and Judith A. Long of Endicott, NY; her brother James M. Long (Michele) of Harrisburg, PA; as well as eight nieces and nephews who were dear to her heart.

Debbie found joy in simple pleasures-she loved swimming and was a proud member of the Green Valley Swim Club in York. She cherished outings with friends and especially enjoyed going out to lunch with those close to her. A passionate Democrat, she remained engaged with the world around her and held strong convictions throughout her life.

Above all else, Debbie loved her family deeply. Her role as a grandmother brought her tremendous pride and happiness. She nurtured lasting friendships and touched many lives with her kindness and spirited presence.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A memorial gathering will be announced at a future date. No flowers please, donations can be made in her memory to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
