Debra Ann McClain Wyatt's Story

SEPTEMBER 25,1962 – SEPTEMBER 10, 2025

Debra Ann McClain Wyatt entered eternal rest on September 10, 2025, at the age of 62.
A native of New Orleans, Debra was born on September 25, 1962, to the late Vernon McClain Sr. and Artnase Benjamin McClain; she loved her beloved "Algiers".

Debra accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by Reverend G.B. Franklin at First Free Mission Baptist Church. At the time of her passing, Debra was a member of Fischer Community Church under the leadership of Bishop James N. Brown.

Debra received her education in the New Orleans Public School System and was a proud graduate of Oliver Perry-Walker Senior High School, Class of 1980.
She went on to dedicate her career to caring for others as a Home Health Care Worker. She was known for her compassion and commitment to her patients, clients, and their families.
Outside of her career, Debra enjoyed the culture and the traditions of New Orleans and she never missed an opportunity to attend a second line or card game.
She was an avid reader and lover of all genres of music, movies, and TV series, and she always had a quick-witted joke when telling a story.
Debra was a member of The Krewe of Athena Carnival Club's Empresses of Essence Float Krewe and the NOLA Silver Foxes.

Debra leaves to cherish her memories, her Mother–Artnase Benjamin McClain; Husband Burley Charles; Beloved daughter–Sharelle Wyatt; Son–Arnold Wyatt Jr.; Grandchildren–Xavier Wyatt, Jaden Thibeaux, A'Xyren Wyatt, and Kat-lyn Bieniemy; Brother–Vernon McClain II.; Nephews–Anson Benjamin, Vernon McClain lll, and Caiden McClain; Aunts–Bernice Benjamin Riggins, Joan McClain LeBlanc, and Gloria McClain Scott; Uncles–Samuel, Sterling, Henry, Condell Sr., and Leslie Benjamin; special friend–Arnold Wyatt Sr.; Niece/Goddaughter–Raiana Price; Sisters–Ada King Jackson, Angel King Johnson, Robin "Cricket" Edwards-Price, Lisa and Sandra Wyatt, Chevelle Lassai, Pamela Smith, and Samantha "Pluck" Collins; Brothers-in-Love–Aaron Riggins and Pickle; and a host of first cousins, other family members, friends, and Special classmates.

Debra was preceded in death by her Father–Vernon McClain Sr.; Aunt–Janice Benjamin; and Cousin–Darrell Riggins.

Relatives and friends of the family are welcome to attend the funeral service on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Fischer Community Church, 1737 L.B. Landry Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70114.
Reverend Nelson Brown will officiate.
The Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
The Interment will follow at Mc Donoghville Cemetery, 520 Hancock Street, Gretna, LA 70053.
