Debra Baker Obituary

Debra Lea Baker, age 73, passed away on September 10, 2025 at her residence in Wenatchee, WA. She passed away peacefully in her home 5 years after being diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia.
Debra was born May 9, 1952 in Tacoma, WA. She was the daughter of Julie and William "Bill" Baker. She grew up in Tacoma and spent most of her adult life in Wenatchee. She graduated from Central Washington University and taught Elementary school mostly at Newberry Elementary, but also briefly taught in North Carolina and Tacoma as well.
Debra enjoyed gardening, travel, teaching, walking, art, culture, and going to music and show venues. She often would be listening to music and ROCKING OUT while working around the house. Native American and Mexican culture was significant in her life, and she travelled to Mexico a number of times including spending time in a Spanish immersion program with a host family to improve her Spanish skills which helped her teach grade school ESL. She valued time with family and friends and was a loving and proud mother and grandmother. Deb will be missed by many, including her daughter, Rose and partner, Diana; her son, Adam and his wife, Kate of Bothell; her son, David of Seattle; her brother, Mike of Wenatchee; her sister, Cheri of Tacoma; and her grandchildren, Brianne Neal, Miles Barker, and William Barker.
The family would like to sincerely thank Diana Smith and the many other family, friends, and caretakers who helped Mom in her final years.
A memorial will be held at Ohme Gardens from 1 to 3 p.m. on October 5th, 2025. 3327 Ohme Rd, Wenatchee, WA 98801.
