Mrs. Debra Lynne Bunton, age 66, of the Orianna Community of Soperton passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, February 2, 2023 while under the care of Community Hospice in Vidalia.
Born in Augusta, Georgia, she was the only daughter and one of two children born to the late Billy Edward Thompson and Louise Johnson Thompson. She grew up in Aiken, South Carolina where she attended school.
Debra worked as a Truck Driver for many years hauling freight and was affectionately known as "Boss Lady" to her counterparts. She later worked at Plant Vogtle in Waynesboro, GA, as Warehouse Foreman, from 2011 until retiring in 2020.
Debra enjoyed her pets, both domestic and feral and spoiling her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husbands: Ricky Clark and Randolph Frederick "Fred" Bunton Jr.
Debra leaves behind: her daughter, Lauren Padgett (Sean), Dublin, GA, her brother, Stephen Thompson (Glenis), Aiken, SC, her grandchildren, Hope and Beau "BoBo" Padgett, sister in law, Delora Simmons (Dana), Soperton, GA, nieces and nephews, Noelle and Lo Lo Lyles, Soperton, GA, April and Kyle Braddy, Soperton, GA, Nicole Thompson, Aiken, SC, Daniel Thompson, Perth, Australia, great nieces and nephews, Hayden and Brayden Lyles and Riley and Braylie Braddy as well as her pets, Zoey, Sweetie Pie and Zelda.
Funeral services will be conducted at a later date as Debra is laid to rest.
