Debra Sue Carpenter Pleasantville Ohio died 8:46am on November 5, 2021 at Fairfield Medical Center after a battle with Neuroendocrine Carcinona Cancer. She was born December 31, 1952 in Zanesville, Ohio to Margaret K. Dickerson Scott and Richard L. Scott. She was a long time resident of Fairfield County, Ohio and wintered in Okeechobee, Florida. A retired teacher of 25 years. She taught at Crooksville, Berne Union and finished her career at Fairfield Career Center as a Special Education teacher. She had worked for Anchor Hocking before her teaching career. She loved to travel and spending time with her family. Often doing both at the same time. She loved spending time with animals, having raised a little of everything dogs, cats, goats, horses, alpaca, and a miniature donkey. Springer Spaniels were her favorites with special memories of Cody, Coco, Cricket, Hershey and Snickers and cats Sweetie and Bo. She is survived by loving family Lee Carpenter; children, Scott E. (Nicole) Wood, Robert L. (Brandy) Wood; grandchildren, Dezi Barrett, Leland Barrett, mother; Margaret K. Scott; sisters, Sherry L. Scott, and Vicky L. (Mark) Smith; niece, Brandy (Zeb) Wilkes; nephew, Alan M. Smith; great niece, Cora Wilkes. She is preceded in death by father, Richard L. Scott and infant brother, Richard L. Scott Jr. A special thanks to Brandy Barrett, Shelley Mauger, and Tabby King, mom's caregivers that aided in the care of Deb as her health declined. Caring cremation will be done by O.R. Woodyard Co. A date will be announced later for a Celebration of Life and burial of cremains at Hampson Cemetery, Pleasantville Ohio. Donations may be made in her memory to FairHope Hospice Lancaster or Ohio State University Cancer Care Center.
