Debra Diane Clark, 69, of Rochester and formerly of Akron, Indiana passed unexpectedly on Friday, February 20, 2026 at her residence.

Debbie was born on August 29, 1956 in Warsaw, Indiana to Duane and Evelyn (Ball) Eckert. She graduated from Wawasee High School where she met her husband, Rodney L. Clark. The two married in 1976 and have one daughter, Becky Diane, born July 7, 1976, also of Rochester.

Debbie was an advanced EMT for 15 years, wrote for the Akron News, worked at the Farmer's Daughter's Café in Akron, and drove for Head Start. She gave piano lessons to local children for several years and enjoyed music. She loved animals and dedicated herself to raising rabbits as a family hobby for 15 years. She accompanied Becky all over the Midwest when Becky was a youth rabbit competitor.

Debbie loved her dogs and left behind her beloved German Shepherd, Bell. Debbie was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears, IU, Purdue, Notre Dame and Butler. She also loved NASCAR and Thoroughbred horse racing. For several years, she and Becky would attend the Arlington Million to watch the top horses in the country race at Arlington Park.

She is survived by her husband Rodney Clark of Rochester; daughter Becky Clark of Rochester; and siblings Tim and wife Laura Kuhn, Claypool, Pam and husband Darrel Miller, Mentone, Gary and wife Marla Kuhn, Etna Green; and nephew Kreg Kuhn.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents and step father Don Kuhn, and step brother David Kuhn.

No services will be held at this time. The arrangements have been entrusted to Hartzler Funeral Home 305 West Rochester Street Akron, Indiana

Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the funeral home to assist in expenses.
