Debra Lynn Compoz

Debra James Compoz, 68, of Concord, passed away Monday, November 24, 2025 at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital in Concord, NC with her family by her side.

Mrs. Compoz was born May 5, 1957 in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Lacy Eldridge James and the late Nancy Eskridge James.

She was also preceded in death by sister, Diane Cochrane, and sister, Nancy Albright.

Debbie was a devoted mother, cherished friend, and a lover of all animals but especially birds and cats. Her home was never without a cat (or three) curled up on a blanket or a bird feeder swaying just outside. She loved planting flowers and had many gardens of color where she enjoyed all the creatures that would visit. One of her favorite ways to bring people together was through game nights. Whether it was cards, board games, or something silly that had everyone laughing, she loved the moments of connection and joy they created. Those gatherings were some of her happiest times, and they’re memories her family and friends will always treasure.

Survivors include husband, Louis Compoz of Concord, NC, sister, Marie J. Montgomery of Palm City, FL, daughter, Ashley Ide, of Concord. Also surviving are her granddaughter, Zoe M. Ide, and grandson, Zac L. Ide. Though she has left this world, her legacy lives on in the blooming gardens she cultivated, the animals she cared for, and the hearts of those who loved her. Debbie retired from Phillip Morris USA where she made life long friends.
