Debra “Debbie” Andres Compton, age 56, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday November 29, 2023 after a long battle against cancer. Debbie lived a very full life, surrounded by lots of family and friends, and created many memories. Debbie was a loyal follower of the Lord Jesus Christ and extended that sentiment to her sons and family. She loved her family dearly and would do absolutely anything for her 3 sons and granddaughter. Debbie loved fiercely and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was born on July 25, 1967 to Mary Poltrock Cortell in Spokane Washington. Soon after her birth, she was adopted by her loving parents Homer and Betty Andres of Ferndale, Washington. Debbie attended Ferndale High School and upon graduating, she attended cosmetology school. She worked at JC Penny’s for many years as a hair stylist and she developed many close friendships during her time here. Debbie later moved on to work at WTA as a bus driver where she touched many lives on a daily basis.
On July 8, 1992 Debbie welcomed her first born son Corey Ellyson with her first husband Dale Ellyson. On April 27, 1996, Debbie married Richard Compton, the love of her life, and spent a blissful 27 years with him. On April 22, 1998, Rich and Debbie welcomed their second son Levi Compton. Skylar Compton soon followed on June 23, 2001. To know Debbie was to love her, and she sure loved her boys more than anything in this world. She was an incredible mother, wife, and then grandmother when her granddaughter Gracie was born on March 15, 2014 to her eldest son Corey. Debbie lived for all the milestones of her sons including graduations, children, college, careers, and weddings. Debbie was able to attend the wedding of her second son Levi just a mere 2 months prior to her passing. She would radiate joy when speaking about her boys, and she was most proud of them and will be with them every day in Heaven.
Debbie is survived by her father Homer Andres, (biological) mother Mary Poltrock Cortell, husband Richard Compton, son Corey Ellyson, son Levi Compton and wife Abbie Compton (Blankenship), son Skylar Compton, granddaughter Gracie, brothers Dave and wife Dana Andres and John and wife Kristi Andres and their loving families. Power be to the Lord for his blessings upon us all during this time of hardship. The family finds significant peace knowing Debbie is home with her Lord and Savior, reunited with her mother Betty Andres. A Celebration of Life will be held at Good News Fellowship Church, 1252 West Axton Road, Ferndale, WA 98248 on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 10:00am.
