Debra Kay Feather

Debra Kay Feather, affectionately known as Debbie to her loved ones, passed away peacefully from natural causes on January 20, 2026, at her home in Sarcoxie, Missouri. Debbie was born on August 24, 1955, in South Gate, California to the union of the late Charlie and Beulah Payne. Debbie was a beacon of warmth and kindness to all who knew her.

Debbie's journey through life was one of enduring love and companionship with her husband, Christopher Feather, whom she married on January 26, 1980, sharing nearly forty-six years of wonderful memories. Their union was blessed with two wonderful children, Kimberly Martin, alongside her husband Blake of Carterville, MO, and Kevin Feather of Sarcoxie, MO. Debbie's role as a grandmother was one she cherished deeply, and she adored her grandchildren, Gabe, Montana, and Piper Martin, whose lives she enriched with her unconditional love and support.

She was the beloved sister of Pam Roller and her husband Curtis of Purdy, MO, and Sherri Phillips and her husband Tim of Lamar, MO. Debbie also held a special place in her heart for her step-siblings, Charlotte and Larry, Patsy and Dick, Barbara and Les, Ruthie and Jim, Joy and Virgil, and Douglas. She was a caring sister-in-law to Curtis Feather and his wife Kathleen, Cynthia Workes and her husband Billy, Charlotte Pickering and her husband Doug, and Tony Feather and his wife Jean. Debbie's extended family included several nieces and nephews, all of whom benefitted from her generosity and spirit. Her family network extended to a host of other relatives and friends, who will miss her dearly.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Beulah Payne, stepfather Billie Wells, brother Johnny Payne, and brothers-in-law Carl and Conrad Feather. Their memories remained a cherished part of her life, and she often shared fond recollections of their time together.

Professionally, Debbie was a dedicated employee at Kohls Department Store, where her work ethic and friendly demeanor were appreciated by both colleagues and customers alike. She was an active member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Sarcoxie, MO, where she found strength and community.

Her interests were as varied as they were fulfilling. Debbie took immense pleasure in attending her grandchildren's sporting events, an avid supporter from the stands. Sewing was another of her passions, a skill she wielded with grace and creativity. Shopping was not just a pastime but an expression of her love for family and friends, as she delighted in finding the perfect gifts to bring smiles to their faces. Above all, spending time with her family and friends was Debbie's favorite way to spend her days, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Debbie Feather's legacy is one of joy, care, and the enduring bonds of family and friendship. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but the light she brought into the world will continue to shine through the lives of those she touched. As we reflect on her life, we do so with gratitude for the time we were privileged to share with her, and with the knowledge that her spirit will forever be a guiding force in our lives.

Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at St. Agnes Cemetery, Sarcoxie, Missouri, with Father Thomas officiating. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Dusty Feather, Denver Feather, Jamie Pickering, Neil Roller, Erik Roller and Brian Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be Flint Feather, Randy Feather, A.J. Feather, Josh Feather and J.T. Roberson. Rosary with visitation to follow will be Tuesday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
