LYNN CENTER-Debra A. Gainey, 69, of Lynn Center, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2023, at Mary Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 1402 10th Street, Orion. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday May 14, 2023, at the church with a Prayer Service to begin at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be at Western Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Gilda's Club of the Quad Cities, Northwest Area Cursillo, or Mary Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Orion is assisting the family.

Debra was born on September 15, 1953, in Moline, the daughter of Frank "Bud" and Rosebud (Freeman) Lee. She married Thomas C. Gainey on September 18, 1971, at Mary Our Lady of Peace. She was previously employed in customer service at Meadow Lanes, Pizza Hut and IGA, all in Orion. Deb was an active member of Mary Our Lady of Peace and would faithfully volunteer her time at various church functions. She was involved in keeping the score book for both the Orion High School boys' and girls' basketball programs for 25 years. Above all, Deb loved being with her friends and family.

Survivors include her husband, Tom; children, Michelle (Jon) Christensen, Rock Falls, Chad (Stephanie) Gainey, Bettendorf; grandchildren, Thomas Christensen, Rock Falls, Megan (Issac) Lee, Rock Falls, Taylor Gainey, Bettendorf, Alexander Gainey, Bettendorf; brother, Richard Lee, Moline, sister-in-law, Beth Lee, Orion; brother-in-law, Dale Snell, Lynn Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Norma Snell, Joyce Woodley; brother, Robert Lee; sister-in -law, Reva Lee; nieces, Becky L. Grundstrom, Kara Matzen; nephew, Ritchie Lieving.
