Debra Lou Lane Jacobi

Debra "Debbie" Lou Lane Jacobi passed away peacefully on February 20th, 2026, in her home in West Jordan, Utah, after a courageous year battle with brain tumors. She was surrounded by her loved ones.

Debbie was born on October 23rd, 1954, in Springfield, Illinois. When she was still young, her mother moved the family to Utah, a place that would shape the rest of her life. Growing up, Debbie and her sister Brenda were inseparable. Their bond only deepened through shared adventures, including their lighthearted days "stalking the Osmonds," a memory that sparked Debbie's lifelong love of music and joyful mischief.

In 1975, she met her former husband, Michael Jacobi, and together they raised a beautiful family of five children in Magna, Utah. Debbie was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and homemaker, and she lived her faith as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints.

Anyone who knew Debbie knew her as a true social butterfly. She had a remarkable gift for making friends wherever she went, and those friendships carried her across the world. She once attended a cooking school in Italy, and she made several cherished trips to England to enjoy musicals and visit friends she met through the Michael Ball fan club. Her sense of adventure was matched only by her love for her grandchildren. Whether they were having tea parties, watching classic cartoons, or simply enjoying each other's company, she made every moment feel magical.

Debbie was also a talented crafter. She poured her creativity into handmade pieces that she sold online and at local markets, sharing her warmth, imagination, and personality with everyone who brought her work into their homes.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald Lee Lane and Patsy Ann Lesko Lane. She is survived by her siblings, Brad Lane (Lori) and Brenda Lane; her five children, M. Derek Jacobi (Jamie), Ian Jacobi (Jessica), Rebekah White (Derek), Tyson Jacobi (Mandy), and Trenton Jacobi (Amanda); as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren who will carry her memory forward.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her dear friend Marie Cox and her niece Kim Jaquier for their unwavering support, companionship, and kindness during some of Debbie's most difficult times. Their love and presence brought her comfort and strength.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 27th, 2026, from 6:00–8:00 PM at the church building located at 3836 W 4100 S in West Valley City, Utah. A second viewing will take place the following morning, February 28th, 2026, from 9:30–10:45 AM at the same location. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by a graveside service at Mountain View Memorial Cemetery, 3115 E Bengal Blvd, Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
