Sue Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Premier Funeral Services - Salt Lake City on Feb. 25, 2026.
Sue Lynne Call Smith May 20, 1942 – February 23, 2026

Sue Lynne Call Smith, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away on February 23, 2026, in Farmington, Utah. She was 83 years old.

Sue was born on May 20, 1942, to Billie and Glenn Call, the eldest of eight sisters. On January 30, 1963, she married her childhood sweetheart and the love of her life, David Stanley Smith. Together they built a family and a life defined by faith, laughter, and unconditional love.

Sue was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David, who passed just two months before her. Those who knew them both find comfort in knowing David came back for her so quickly, he simply could not wait any longer to take her hand and walk with her into eternity. They were inseparable in life, and they are inseparable again. She is also preceded in death by her parents Glenn and Billie Call, her sisters Michaela and Merry Jo, and her son-in-law John Straight.

She is survived by her loving children and grandchildren:

Lise and (John) Straight- Melinda, Suzanna, Elinore, Jennette, and Maria Straight

Kristina and Sam- Dru and Corinn, Zac, James, and Tye Belnap

Ted and Cel- Davey, Annie, and Matthew Smith

Billie and Richie Aldaba, Keith and Cami- Wrigley and Ryne Smith.

She is also survived by her sisters Kathy (Ross) Elliott, Maureen (Sam) Harper, Linda (Bruce) Neeley, Christine Call, and Carma and Martin Cervetti, who were her lifelong companions and friends.

Sue was a devoted and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving with unwavering dedication throughout her entire life.

She loved nothing more than being a mother, a wife, and a grandmother. She was the first to show up when a neighbor was in need, always ready with a meal, a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on. Her compassion was not occasional; it was simply who she was.

Sue had a passion for watching sports, especially anything BYU, and pro baseball. She was also an avid reader who made sure that love of books lived on in her children and grandchildren, first by reading aloud to them and then by sharing long, rainy afternoons reading together.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and faith, and a family who will miss her greatly but are happy she is reunited with David.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday March 3rd, 2025, at the Davis Creek Ward, 825 South 50 East in Farmington, Utah. Evening viewing on Monday, 7:00 - 8:00 pm at the same location.
