Interment will follow at Gravel Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10:00am at Laird Funeral Home.

Ms. Jones was born on July 20, 1967 in Jacksonville, the daughter of Franklin Avery Jones and Hazel Lamerle Langford Jones. She passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025 in Humble, Texas.

Debra had a heart of gold and loved her family dearly. She was never blessed with children of her own but found great joy in being a "second mom" to her nephew, Tony. Her sister Janice was her best friend and when the opportunity came for her to be of help, Debra began keeping Tony and her young cousin, Shane. Her days with them were filled with lots of fun with the boys. She took them to "cowboy camp" and was a constant in their lives, which was the highlight of her own life.

Having a great love of music, Debra could name most any song, the artist and most times, even the names of the band members. When the family had gatherings, she was deemed the DJ, hence her nickname becoming how everyone knew her. These gatherings brought out the best in her. Her happiness abounded when everyone was together and where four of them were gathered, a "42" game was sure to break out. She also loved to cook (she developed this skill from the many cooking shows she watched) and spent many years at convenience stores and the deli keeping folks happy! Of course, her coconut pie was the best! She loved her customers and the people she worked for. DJ also established a great friendship with Ray, whom she loved very much. He was always there for her when she needed him and she appreciated the true friendship that spanned over 25 years. She loved her Lord and Savior and portrayed this through her worship and music in her daily life and her membership in the Baptist church. DJ also had a profound and deep seeded love for America's Team, the Dallas Cowboys. Her bright smile and contagious joy will forever be treasured by those whose lives were touched by hers.

Debra is survived by her sister, Janice Wisener and husband Michael; nephew, Tony Gatwood and wife Katie; niece, Crystal Talavera and husband Alvaro; great nieces and nephews, Addyson, Brylee, Avery, Stella, Maverick, Madyson, Ryleigh, Taylor, Tristyn, Tambryn, Talyn, Tinsleigh and Taisley; special cousin Shane Abney and great friend, Ray Eubank. She is also survived by numerous cousins and friends that she held dear.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Frankie Lee Jones and nephew Ryan Derby.

The family would like to give special thanks to Kristi Bobo who spent many hours with DJ as her caregiver. Their bond was one of true love and friendship and showed exceptional devotion by Kristi.
