Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services - AlgomaDebra A. Kourlesis, 67, Formerly of Algoma, passed away on February 27, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones near her home in Shorewood, Illinois after an illness.
“Debbie” was born in February 1959 in Kaukauna to Jim and Yvonne (Wickmann) Seif, the 4th of 6 children. She married Robin Urban of Casco in 1979 and became mother of two children, Afam and Allison.
She was married later to her soulmate Nick Kourlesis, September 18, 2011, who preceded her in death on June 16, 2016.
Deb graduated NWTC for Accounting and had worked for Algoma Hardwoods and Olsonite before moving to Plainfield, Illinois to help her husband Nick run his business there.
Deb loved spending time with friends and family, wintering at her place in The Villages, Florida, golfing, and enjoying her last years with her special friend, Mark Graczyk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Yvonne Seif; her sister, Barbara Szozda; and her beloved husband, Nickolaus Kourlesis.
Debra is survived by her siblings, Dan Seif, Mark (Cindy) Seif, Kim (Tom) Jerabek and Carla Seif-Wilke (Jerry); also by her children, Adam (Caroline) Urban, and Allison Urban; stepsons, Chris (Jen) Kourlesis, and John Kourlesis. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Haley, Aubrey, Alaric (Adam and Caroline) Urban, Teddy LaPorte (Allison) whom she was known as Nana; and grandchildren of special friend, Mark Graczyk, Mason, Weston, Emmerson, Ellison (Mark Jr and Jayme), and Amelia, Kayleigh (Kevin) to whom she was knows as “Miss Debbie”.
Burial of her cremated remains will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Bay Road, Algoma, at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 11, 2026, with Fr. Timothy Machila officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held at Red’s Rockin’ Shore Pub and Grill from 11:30-2:30 after the inurnment. Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family.
