Debra Manuel Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boren-Conner Funeral Home - Jacksonville on Mar. 13, 2026.
Debra Kay Manuel formerly of China, TX passed away peacefully in her own home on February 10th, 2026 at the age of 56. Debra graduated in 1987 from Hardin-Jefferson High School in Sour Lake, TX. She spent most of her life devoted to being a mother to her only child, James. She also spent her later years working at the Henderson Post Office, where she dedicated 17 years of service. Those who knew Debra knew she was a loving B'Nana and Mother. She loved spending time with her grandson Hayden, her family, and friends. She enjoyed music, and going to concerts, as well as traveling, scary movies, ghost hunting and other various paranormal related activities, and also doing yard work. She also loved all bright colors, especially pink, and she loved her dog Leila. She is preceded in death by her grandson Hayden, her grandparents Edmond Sr. & Martha Manuel, and Mayo & Bessie Duhon, and her best friend from The Netherlands, Wesley Neilssen. She is survived in death by her parents, Edmond Jr. & Kathryn Manuel, her son James Bolling, & his wife Samantha, her siblings Rhonda Best & her husband Steve, Clinton Manuel & his wife Wanda, and Tonja Watts, along with numerous nieces & nephews, family members, and a host of friends. What she thrived on was her grandson, Hayden, and we gain comfort knowing that she is spending her past life with him in her arms.

A Memorial Service for Debra will be held on Friday, March 20th at 11AM at Hillcrest Baptist Church (3324 Park Dr., Nederland, TX 77627). The service will also be live-streamed for those who can not attend in person. Please wear bright colors as it is what Debra would have wanted.
