Debra Ann May, of Albany, Georgia, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2024, at the age of 65. She was born on April 27, 1959, to her loving parents Hugh and Mavis May on Johnson Air Force Base in Japan. Debra moved to Albany as a teenager and lived out the rest of her life there.

Debra is survived by her son Jeremey Wages and his wife Jennifer of Leesburg, GA; sisters Kathy Gregory (Edwin) of Cordele, GA and Donna Woods (Michael) of Florida; as well as four adoring grandchildren, Anniston Wages, Camden Dent, Emma Dent and Lilly Neeld. Along with many nieces and nephews. And long time friend and caregiver Martha Sue Sargent.

Debra is preceded in death by her father, Hugh May (Nita); mother, Mavis May; and brothers, Rick May, Larry May and Billy May.

Debra attended Dougherty High School and went on to have a successful career at Technical Associates-P&G, where she ultimately retired in 2024 after spending years as a Safety Supervisor. Debra poured her heart and soul into her work and was respected and admired by her coworkers.

In her free time, Debra enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, and working in her yard. She had a special fur baby, Pupsicle and was a lover of all animals.

Debra was of the Christian faith and attended Sherwood Baptist Church. One of her favorite bible verses was Psalm 46:1 which states "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

"Despite her battle with cancer, Debra approached life with a smile on her face and a contagious sense of humor. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She cared deeply for the people around her, was kind and made an impact on many lives. Forever to be missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at Mathew's Funeral Home on Wednesday June 26, 2024 at 3pm. Mr. Steven Dapper will officiate.

The family will receive friends following the services at Mathews Funeral Home.
