Debra McLoud-Delaney Obituary

Debra Kay McLoud-Delaney, age 68, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with Prion disease.

Debbie was born on May 8, 1957, to Lucy and William McLoud in Plainwell, Michigan. The youngest of five children, she grew up with four older brothers and a close-knit circle of friends-especially Joanne and Sandy, who remained by her side throughout her life. In high school, she was a spirited cheerleader, always bringing energy and enthusiasm to pep rallies and school events.

After graduation, Debbie embarked on a life of adventure and discovery, living in Marquette, Washington state, and eventually Northern California, where she lived and worked on a ranch. It was there that she welcomed her first son, Andrew. Soon after, she returned to Michigan, where her second son, Zachary, was born. Debbie eventually made her home in Vicksburg, Michigan, where she lovingly raised her sons alongside her husband and soulmate of nearly 30 years, Tim Delaney.

Debbie dedicated over 30 years of service to Bronson Healthcare, beginning at Bronson Vicksburg Hospital in the kitchen and later in patient registration. After her sons graduated high school, she transferred to the Bronson Athletic Center, where she worked as a patient access specialist. Throughout her career, she formed many meaningful and lasting friendships with her coworkers.

Outside of work, Debbie found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved camping along Lake Michigan, taking walks and bike rides, kayaking, and playing cribbage after meals-a beloved family tradition that often decided who would do the dishes. A talented crafter, she enjoyed creating beautiful, personalized greeting cards using her collection of stamps. A devoted Catholic, Debbie was a member of St. Martin of Tours Parish in Vicksburg, where she contributed her time and compassion to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, helping those in need in her community.

Debbie's presence was both calming and joyful. She was a light in the lives of many, often found with a smile and the sound of Jimmy Buffett playing nearby. Of all her roles, perhaps the one she cherished most was being a grandmother. Her love for her granddaughter Delaney was boundless.

Debbie is survived by her beloved husband, Tim Delaney; her sons, Andrew Enos and Zach Enos (Yuko); her granddaughter, Delaney Enos; and her brothers Ralph Decker, Danny Decker, and Bill McLoud. She is also lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and in-laws who were dear to her heart. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harry McLoud and her parents, Lucy and William McLoud.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Martin of Tours Parish, 5855 West Avenue E, Vicksburg, MI 49097 on Friday, June 13, 2025, with a time for visiting beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. with Monsignor Thomas Martin officiating. Friends and family are invited to a time of celebration at Tim and Debbie's home following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Debbie's memory to the CJD Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting families affected by Prion diseases and advancing research toward a cure.
