Debra Neilson (Garblik)

Debra Neilson (Garblik), of Mount Laurel, NJ, passed away comfortably and peacefully on Friday, October 17, 2025 surrounded by her loving family after fighting an uphill battle with strength, beauty, and resilience.

Debra was born in Queens, NY to the late Barbara and Alvin Garblik. She spent her life caring for others as a nurse, wife, mother, and friend. Debra surrounded herself with loved ones and was always the first one to lend a helping hand, be a shoulder to lean on, or giving everyone a big laugh. There was nothing more special to her than the importance of family; she would move mountains for those that had the incredible chance to love her. Her days were filled with beach trips, maj games, and being a Bubbe to her two treasured granddaughters.

Whether she was cooking a holiday dinner, playing maj with her friends, or laying out on the Ocean City beach, Debra loved life. She spent her time caring for others and always being a support system for whoever needed. She had an extraordinary gift: the ability to make friends wherever she went.

Debra's strength and courage through her long battle with cancer is unparalleled. She cherished each and every memory she made; bringing light and laughter to everyone she touched. No matter what, Debra was determined to live life to its fullest. In a room full of people, Debra made each person feel loved, valued, and supported.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert; son Zachary (Ashley) and daughter Zoe (Kyle); brother Joel (Andie) Garblik and sister Susan Johnsonbaugh; brother in law Ken (Chris); and grandchildren, Charlie Rose and Penelope Wren; as well as loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and her thousands of dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Debra's life on October 26th, starting at 10:00am at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Immediately following the memorial service we'd like to welcome you to our home at 677 Cornwallis Drive Mount Laurel, NJ 08054 from 12:30-3:30 for a light brunch and celebration of Debra's life.
