Debbie embodied a spirited and tough personality, truly an innovator in every sense. Throughout the bulk of her career, she devoted herself to the medical field, establishing a remarkable legacy as an EMT, EMT Trainer, Hospice Nurse, and Emergency Room Nurse. Her heartfelt commitment to caring for others was evident in her humble yet profound pride in being one of the original founders of EMT services in Park County, Fairplay. Through her efforts, she played a critical role in procuring the first ambulance, ensuring that her community had access to emergency care when it was needed most.
Later in life, Debbie transitioned to serve as a Ramp Manager for Integrated Airline Services, a role she embraced for about 16 years until her retirement from FedEx in 2019.
Beyond her professional contributions, Debbie held a deep passion for adventure and animals. She cherished her time scuba diving with her husband, John, particularly during their memorable trips to Cozumel and Hawaii. With fearless determination, she entered the ocean on her very first diving excursion, creating everlasting memories filled with excitement and joy. She was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Richard and Ruth Bergdoll, who undoubtedly instilled in her the values of compassion and service that she carried throughout her remarkable life.
In all her endeavors, whether within the walls of a hospital, the expanse of the ocean, or alongside her treasured animals, Debbie brought a bright spark of caring and innovation.
