Debra Roundtree Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home and Chapel on Mar. 9, 2026.
We are saddened to announce the passing of Debra Anthonette (Wood) Roundtree on February 28, 2026, in Shawnee, Oklahoma after a short illness.

She was born May 23, 1954 to Tim Wood and Dorothy (Lusty) Fixico. Debra (Debbie) grew up mainly in Oklahoma City and spent much time with extended family like her grandparents, Ned Lusty and Bapsey (McGirt) Hawkins, in Wewoka. As a proud member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, Debbie enjoyed attending tribal functions, festivals, and church (her favorite was Sand Creek Eufala Baptist Church). She attended the old Classen High School in OKC, running track and participating in school functions.

Debbie married Daniel James Roundtree on February 14, 1976. Together they raised three children: Jason, Danell, and Tim. During which, she worked at the OKC Indian Clinic from 1980 until her retirement in 2009. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, traveling with family, cooking, and tending to prolific vegetable gardens. She made many Halloween costumes and prom outfits for her children, carrying on the practice for her grandchildren. She likely made every recipe imaginable with zucchini squash and enjoyed her homegrown jalapenos with her beans and cornbread. Later in life, Debbie and Daniel shared their love of classic television shows ensuring their grandchildren know who Alfalfa and Andy Griffith are as well as their penchant for thrifting.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Tim Wood and Dorothy (Lusty) Fixico, brother Emmett Wood, sister Sonja Fixico, and daughter Danell Roundtree.

She is survived by her sons Jason Roundtree and Tim Roundtree, grandchildren (Blayne Roundtree, Taylor Fisher, Madison Bell, and Izayah Roundtree), and brothers Tim Wood Jr. and Darrell Wood.

Debbie was known to share a hug, an honest opinion, or a deep belly laugh. She will be remembered for her protectiveness, sly smile, and devotion to her family, as well as for her open door to friends and family looking for a great meal.

Debbie will be tremendously missed and, while her place in the hearts of family and friends will forever be cherished, we find solace knowing she has been reunited with those that passed before her. May she rest in peace.
