Debra Sasken-Duff

Debra (Debby) Lynne Sasken Duff, 68, a beloved wife, mom, sister and auntie, passed away, with faith and joy in her heart on December 19th, 2025, after a short battle with cancer, her husband Brian was by her side. Her final days were spent at Hospice House in Bellingham under their compassionate care, where her family and friends were able to be with her the whole time.
Debby, was born in Bellingham, WA to John and Connie Sasken, on August 21st, 1957. She graduated from Ferndale High School. Joined the Army after high school for 4 years, then re-enlisted for another 4 years. She was then stationed in Hawaii for most of that enlistment, then stationed and lived in Virginia till she moved back home to be closer to her family. Where she worked for Group Health in administration, then she moved to a new job designing cookware, which she loved doing. As we all have benefited from that! Then onto Home Health Care, which she truly loved doing.
Debby, is survived by her husband, Brian of 17 years of Custer, WA, her loving stepdaughter Grace (Nate), Sister to Kathy Ferry, Eileen (Wade), Jim (Karla), Jerry (Kasi). Nephews and Nieces, and great nephews and nieces, who all were very close to their Auntie!
She is preceded in death by her both of her parents, brother Jay and brother-in-law Chris Ferry. Debby, loved life and everything and everyone around her. She had a big garden which was huge for only 2 people but loved to share her bounty. She loved reading, camping, sitting around the campfire, watching movies, playing games, canning from her garden and travel, but her family always came first.
There will be a celebration of life for Debby in June for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Debby's name to the Hospice House in Bellingham or the American Cancer Society.
