Debra Denise (Vance) Johnson, 64, of Wharncliffe, WV passed away at her home due to a long illness on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Dennis and Jane Vance. Debra was a free and fiery spirit. She was a homemaker and loved her family endlessly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charlie and Elizabeth Vance and sister, Sharon Vance.
She was the beloved wife to John “Poss” Johnson for over forty years.
Those left to cherish her loving memory includes her husband, John “Poss” Johnson; children, Jason (Chasity) Johnson, Jessica (Ronnie) Chaffins, and Matthew (Grace) Johnson; grandchildren, Tyler (Madison) Vance, Makayla (Thomas) Cantrell, Dylan (Holly) Vance, Brandon (Sydney) Vance, Alaina Telfeler, Gavin Canterbury, Kyle Wolford, Paxton, Everleigh, and Wrenly Cantrell; sisters, Lucille (Michael) Meade, Ruth (Rick) Sheppard, Leona Gail Vance (Clinton Thompson) Mary “Giggie” (Raymond) Epperhart, and Lisa Vance Edmonds; brothers, Jerry Vance and Dennis “Poncho) Vance, Jr.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, June 7th, 2025, at Wharncliffe Church of God in Wharncliffe, WV with Rev. Caleb Endicott officiating. Burial will follow at Marcum Family Cemetery in East Fork, Twelve Pole.
A visitation will begin two hours prior to the funeral service at 11:00 am.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Collins Funeral Home, Inc. of Switzer, WV.
