Dee Ann (Disney) Edwards, 64, of Danville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024, in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Dee was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on May 6, 1960, to Paul and Ilene (Norris) Disney; both of her parents survive. On January 2, 1993, Dee was united in marriage to Curtis Lee Edwards in the Zionsville Methodist Church; Curt survives. This loving union produced their four greatest blessings, Kasey, Jessica, Danielle, and Jacob.
Dee graduated from Norwalk Community High School, Norwalk, Iowa, in the class of 1978 where she was active on the swim and basketball teams and played clarinet in the band. Curious and smart, Dee worked as an accountant running her business, Edwards Accounting Services for the last twenty years. Her clients often became her friends, as Dee was incredibly trustworthy, helpful, and simply magnetic to everyone around her. She was highly dedicated to her work and clients until her health could no longer allow it.
When not running her business or raising her children, Dee could be found knitting, crocheting, reading, or swimming; she loved being poolside. She was also an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Dee loved to travel especially with Curt and her children, and they have fond memories in the Cayman Islands, The Dunes, Disney, Cedar Point, and Alabama. If you had any of Dee’s cooking, you knew you were in for a treat, especially if you had a chance to eat her “from scratch” cinnamon rolls or cheesecake, roast beef, and mashed potatoes, or relish in a “steak Sunday”. Above all, Dee loved to spend time with her family whom she was incredibly devoted to. She will always be remembered as their fiercest protector who always had the wisest advice for all of them.
Dee was a force of a woman who lived life with a very determined spirit. She was generous with her time and gifts, and helped those around her in any capacity they needed, never having to be asked to do so. Her magnetic personality made it easy for her to never know a stranger, while also lengthening her trips to the grocery store or running errands, visiting with folks she knew. Through her battle with her health, Dee’s faith and zest for life never wavered, even in the moments when many would think it was easier to do so. Dee always had faith, she always loved fiercely, and she always enjoyed life; her legacy will live on in all of those she leaves behind.
Survivors include both of her parents, Paul Disney and Ilene (Norris) Disney; her husband of 31 years, Curt Edwards; her children, Kasey Riggen (Caleb), Jessica Edwards, Danielle Smith (Jeremiah), and Jacob Edwards (Bailey); her grandchildren, Doug, Joey, Teague, Preston, and Hayden; her siblings, Derrick Disney (Denise), Dawn Bruggeman (Steve), Dru Arnold (Kyle), Danette Hardt (Tim), Deana Krolewski (Rich), and David Disney; along with several nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family members, and numerous beloved friends.
Family and friends will gather for a visitation to celebrate Dee's life on Monday, August 26, 2024, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Bartlett Chapel, 4396 East Main Street, Avon, Indiana 46123, with the memorial service beginning at 4:00 PM Monday, August 26, 2024, in the church.
