Dee Wang Sun passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, at the age of 68. She was surrounded by her husband, Wei Sun, and her daughters, Cynthia Shiyi Sun and Tiffany Shiwen Sun.

Dee was born on August 1, 1957, in Lanzhou, China. She lived in several cities throughout China – including Harbin, Changchun, Beijing, and Tianjin – before moving to the United States in 1984. While living in New York City, she reunited with and later married her middle school classmate, Wei.

Dee was a person of extraordinary determination and unwavering resolve. When she set her mind to something, she would go to the ends of the earth to make it happen. She exemplified this in multiple aspects of her life, whether it was completing her bachelor's degree or building a successful 20+ year career as a web developer, all while overcoming a language barrier and being a caring and devoted mother to two young children.

She loved to travel and approached every trip with the same care and thoughtfulness that she brought to all areas of her life. Her last major trip was this past summer, when she and Wei spent nearly three weeks exploring France. Dee planned every detail of the itinerary so thoroughly that they completed the entire trip on their own – without the help of a tour guide or group. This was a reflection of who she was: meticulous, endlessly resourceful, and always eager to make the most out of every experience.

Later in life, Dee discovered a deep passion for dance. She joined several dance groups, from a club at Johns Hopkins to the Baltimore Chinese School dance team, and participated in numerous performances and competitions – once even earning an honorable mention prize. She took great pride in her dancing, and loved sharing photos and videos from her practices and performances with her family.

Dee fiercely believed in family above everything, and held those she loved close to her heart – no matter the distance. She took a genuine interest in our lives, always asking about our days, our well-being, and our milestones. We will deeply miss her warmth, her thoughtfulness, and the constant, unyielding love she gave us.

A private service will be held at the family-owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home (Beltway exit 26) on Friday October 10. Visitation will begin at 10AM, followed by a service at 11AM.
