Deena Kay (McGuire) Baker, 59, of Argonia, formerly of Oxford, died Monday, December 8, 2025 at her daughter's home in Argonia, Kansas.

Memorial Service 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2025 at the Floyd Memorial Chapel in Argonia Cemetery, Argonia, Kansas.

Deena was born July 31, 1966 in El Dorado, Kansas to John Franklin McGuire and Carletta Kay (Eggens) McGuire. She moved with her family to Emporia when she was very young. She attended Emporia Public Schools and graduated from Emporia High School with the class of 1984. She continued her education at Barton County Community College before receiving her Bachelor's degree in Sociology at Emporia State University in 1993.

Deena lived in Buhler, Hutchinson, El Dorado and Oxford. She worked as a Regional Manager servicing people with intellectual disabilities for Creative Community Living later known as Easter Seals Capper Foundation.

Deena was a passionate thrifter. She loved music and dancing. She was also an avid bowler and participated in many bowling leagues and tournaments during her life. Deena loved to read, travel, and go to the casino.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Deena is survived by one son James Monk of Wichita, Kansas; two daughters: Gabrielle Edwards of Argonia, Kansas; Danielle Edwards of Wichita, Kansas; her mother Carletta Barker (Larry Middleton) of Osage City, Kansas; two brothers: Travis Barker and wife Angela of Le Harpe, Kansas; Britt Liggett (Jennifer) of Rosalia, Kansas; one sister Kim Albertson and husband Darryl of Wichita, Kansas; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and was loved by many.

A memorial has been established to the Craig Hospital Foundation.
