Deena Kay Balser

Deena K. Balser, 76, of Potsdam, passed away at 7:32 a.m. Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Grandview Hospital. She was born July 24, 1946 in Ashland to the late Ralph and Mary (Williams) Painter. She married Richard L. Balser November 16, 1968 in Troy, and he survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mary Blair of Phillipsburg, Sami Lee of Piqua; a grandson, Aaron Blair of Phillipsburg; a brother, Daryle (Jacquie) Painter of Troy; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters, Beverly Stapleton, Janet Painter, and Patti Cremeans.
Deena was a graduate of Troy High School, Class of 1964. She worked as a United States Postal Carrier in the Englewood area. Deena loved collecting things, namely baskets, ceramic eggs, and rocks, among others. She enjoyed reading, and doing crafts like rubber stamping, scrapbooking, and card making. Deena enjoyed traveling, and the uniqueness of lighthouses. She loved her family and spending time with them, she is truly missed.
Services to honor Deena's life will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are being handled through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Shriner's Hospital for Children.
