We are sad to announce the passing of our beloved Deena (Joachim) Darout, who died unexpectedly at the Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI on Saturday, June 3, 2023. She was born, raised and educated in Randolph, Massachusetts, and was a graduate of Randolph High School, and went on to receive a Bachelors of Science at Northeastern University. She later earned her Master’s Degree in Regulatory Affairs from Northeastern. Deena developed a passion for helping children with special needs which motivated her to pursue a degree in Special Education. In 2014 she married Etzer Darout at Hammond Castle in Gloucester, MA, and for the last nine years they shared a life together raising their two beloved sons. Children and volunteering were very important to her, and she devoted a significant amount of time teaching and helping others including time as a substitute teacher at Day Spring Christian Academy in Attleboro, MA. Prior to focusing on education, she worked in Regulatory Affairs at Dana Farber. Deena loved the Lord. She grew up at First Haitian Baptist Church where she was saved and later got baptized. The last seven years she was member of Grace Church where she served in the Children’s Ministry. She was member of the Mothers in Prayer International organization. Recently she started a Mothers Prayer Group at St. Andrews school in Rhode Island. The thing Deena cherished the most, was being surrounded by her family and friends. She loved music, reading, traveling, basketball and was a foodie. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her husband Etzer Darout, she is survived by her two sons, Malachi-Legend Thornton and Nathanael T. Darout, both of Seekonk. She was the beloved daughter of Rubin and Yolene (Bordes) Joachim of Mansfield and the sister of Carl Joachim and his wife Diminga of Marshfield, Becky Bernard and her husband Jacob of Sharon and Keshia Joachim of Virginia. She was the loving aunt of many nieces and nephews. They are: C.J. Joachim and his wife Jasmine, Kaijah, Elijha, Shania and Jeremiah Joachim, Hannah and Abigail Bernard, Zoey Andre, Zahra Andre, Nicory Andre, Ruldahe Andre, Arianna Hart and Zachary Hart. She was awaiting the birth of her niece Noelle Hart. Deena was the daughter-in-law of Edner and Suzette Darout of New Jersey and was the sister-in-law of Rachelle Andre and her husband James and Enante Hart and her husband Silas. She was the great aunt of Jayden Joachim and Ava Andre. She is also survived by many extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at Grace Church, 101 Wales Avenue, Avon, MA 02322 on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 9:30 with a visitation hour prior to the service from 8–9AM. Burial will follow at Central Cemetery, 327 North Street, Randolph, MA 02368.
