Del Dennis Winegarner passed away on January 15, 2025, in Winfield, Kansas. Del was born on March 14, 1940, to Delbert Claud Winegarner and Eunice Marie (McCordy) Winegarner in Wichita, Kansas.
A graveside service for Del Dennis Winegarner will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 2pm, at the Newkirk City Cemetery.
Del Winegarner grew up in Wichita, Kansas and attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School. After finishing school Del started work at the Pepsi Cola Bottling Co. In 1964 Del took on work as a Truck Driver for the Jones Truck Line. In 1970 Del moved to Whittier, California where Del was employed by Pacific Motor Trucking Co. In 1984 he returned to Wichita where Del worked for Hyman Freightways until his retirement in 1992. After he retired, he lived briefly in Arkansas before settling in Newkirk, Oklahoma. Del was an adventurous man. He loved his dune buggies. He often attended sand drags, and racing events whenever he could. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, 795.
Del Winegarner is survived by his son, Kyle Dennis Winegarner of Kansas City, Missouri; and his brother, Donald Eugene Winegarner; and his bonus grandkids, Aaron and Abi Brumback and Cole Rowe, all of Ark City Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert Claud Winegarner and Eunice Marie (McCordy) Winegarner; his sister, Carolyn Sue Beard; and his grandchild, Matthew Frank.
Services for Del are in the care of Miller Stahl Funeral Home in Newkirk, Oklahoma. An online guest registry can be viewed at www.millerstahl.com.
