Delanie Mae Wilson, age 89 of Upshaw Community, passed away Monday, August 12, 2024 at Hendrix Heath and Rehabilitation in Double Springs, Alabama.
She was born March 12, 1935 to Jack and Eular Hill. Delanie was a very loving, compassionate, and caring person and she was a devout Christian. Delanie loved to garden, listen to music, and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She was an active member of Friendship Baptist Church for 50 plus years, where she taught Sunday school, vacation Bible school, and was director of the WMU.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.. The service will be Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in the Upshaw Community, where Delanie will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Brother Randy Sellers and Brother Donnie Carroll will officiate.
Delanie is survived by her sons, John (Tammy) Sharp, Mark (Deana) Wilson; daughters, Cindy Nuss, and Leasa (Ramon) Quiles; grandchildren, John Earl (Vickie) Sharp, Michael (Katie) Sharp, Juliana (Andy) Clark, Todd (Shawnta) Sharp, Alexxa (Barry) Stallworth, Antonio Quiles, Andre Quiles, Annsley Nuss, Kinsley Nuss, Bailey (Madison) Muncher, Chloe (Hunter) Morgan, Bailey Wilson, Jeanie (Scott) Nelson, Nathan (Amanda) Harville, Jonathan (Tiffany) Harville; and 23 great grandchildren; sisters, Sadie (Kenneth) Crowley, Dorothy (Dexter) Newton, Kathy Perry; brother, Dwight (Kay) Hill; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Eular Hill; first husband, John Archie Sharp; second husband, Philip Wilson; sister, Kathrine Carwile and Lilly Posey; brother, Leon Hill, Jackie Hill, Danny Hill, Chuck Hill, Wendell Hill, and Willie Hill.
