Delbert Christensen Obituary
Delbert served in the United States Air Force from January 1951 to June 1953.
On February 11, 1954, Delbert was united in marriage with Rachel E. Godfrey in Eagle Grove. Delbert was a lifelong farmer in Eagle Grove and he and Rachel spent winters on South Padre Island in Texas. She preceded him in death on January 28, 1997.
Delbert was a member of the Eagle Grove United Church of Christ and a 50-year member of the Eagle Grove American Legion. He also worked for the ASCS (FSA) measuring government acres for many years.
Delbert passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Rotary Senior Living in Eagle Grove, at the age of 96 years. He was also preceded in death by parents; brothers-in-law, Don Blue, Tom Hamer and Jack Hardcastle; sister-in-law, Janis Harlan (Daryl) and special friend, Fran Lindstrom.
Survivors include his sons, Cary and wife, Pam, Ankeny, IA and Kelly and wife, Christy, Eagle Grove, IA; 4 grandchildren, Sara Lupkes (Nick) of Ankeny, IA, Katie Christensen of Des Moines, IA, Celia Johnson (Kurt) of Oak Park, IL and Cole Christensen of Minneapolis, MN; six great grandchildren, Morgan, Adelyn, Hudson and Isla Lupkes and Cade and Ella Johnson and sisters, Barb Hamer of Fairmont, MN and Shirley Hardcastle of Fort Dodge, IA.
Graveside services will be held at a later date.
