Delbert Knoepfle

Delbert Knoepfle, 82, of Zeeland, ND, passed away May 21, 2023 at St. Vincent's Care Center, Bismarck. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, ND. Burial will take place at the Artas Cemetery, Artas, SD. A reception will be held following the burial at 12:15 PM at the Zeeland Community Hall.
Delbert was born November 19, 1940 in McPherson County, SD to Herbert and Eva (Goehring) Knoepfle. He was raised on a farm east of Artas, SD, where he attended country school until the eighth grade. He then went on to begin his farming career. Delbert married Ilene Schaeffer on August 31, 1961. They resided on a farm southwest of Eureka, SD and in 1969 they moved to a farm east of Zeeland, ND, where they spent most of their life together, raising their family, farming and ranching. Delbert also did custom hay grind for many years, where he met a lot of farmers and enjoyed visiting with them. Delbert farmed and ranched his entire life until October of 2022 when he and his wife moved to St. Vincent's Care Center in Bismarck.
Delbert enjoyed spending time with his family, working on the farm, raising crops, working with cattle and in his later years he enjoyed going camping with his family. He was also a long-life member of the Venturia Baptist Church, where he served as an usher for many years.
Delbert is survived by his wife, Ilene; one son, Randy Knoepfle (special friend Patty Miller), Zeeland; one daughter Michele (Steven) Meidinger, Zeeland; four grandchildren, Crystal (Steven) Sauter, Holly (Shane) Rau, Mikayla (Mitch) Kallevig and Marissa Meidinger (special friend Jared Nolz); seven great-grandchildren, Ethan, Bentley, Hailey, Micah, Wyatt, Klayton and Brynlee; one brother, Ronnie (Lorena) Knoepfle, Artas, SD; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew Ronnie Knoepfle Jr.
