Delbert was born March 27, 1948 in Murray City, Ohio to Ralph Lester McDonald and Rosella June McDonald. He worked 40 plus years for Elford Inc. in Columbus; was a member of the Laborer's Union and the Carpenters Union; loved golf; was an avid hunter, fisherman; loved his dogs; enjoyed woodworking and carpentry.
Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Elly McDonald; children, Brian (Sara) McDonald, Quincy (Rick Lutz) Cody, and Gwen (Rob) Hatfield; grandchildren, Nicholas Stepp, Christina Hatfield, Gregory Hatfield, Emaurice McKinney, Bailee McDonald, Wyatt McDonald, and Lilly Atkins; great- grandchildren, Lailynn Hatfield, Ella Hatfield, and Ava Hatfield; siblings, Diane (Bruce) Roberts, Bob (Peggy) McDonald, and Barb (Gene) Smith; and brother-in-law, Greg Bookman.
Delbert was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Sandy Bookman and Judy (Gene) Wolfe.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at the Brown Funeral Home, Murray City, Ohio with Rev. David Edgell officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
Calling hours will be observed 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 8:00pm on Monday, May 23, 2022, and 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at the funeral home.

My deepest sympathies to the entire McDonald family. Deb was a co-worker of mine at Elford and I have missed him since he retired. Always loved when I got to catch up with him any time he called or stopped by. Prayers for comfort to you all.
