Della Marie Giles, age 91, of Kingston, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on Sunday, September 21, 2025. She was born November 20, 1933 in Kingston and has been a lifelong resident of Roane County. She was a faithful servant to the Lord and was a long-time member of Swan Pond Baptist Church where she enjoyed attending as long as her health permitted. She worked for many years at Burlington & Roane Hosiery Mills. She loved cooking for her family, especially on all holidays. Della would always be found at some point during her day reading her Bible. Preceded in death by her loving husband, H.M. Giles; daughters, Phyllis Shelton and Susan Brown; brothers, Raymond, Kenneth, Leroy, Curtis, Jim, and Howard Poland; grandchildren, Kurt Giles and Melissa Brown; parents, James Monroe & Mary Marie Poland; sisters, Virginia Johnson and Polly Huff.

Son & Daughter-in-law Morgan & Janie Giles of Kingston

Grandchildren Britt Westmoreland, David & Michelle Brown, Justin Giles

Great-grandchildren Kylie Giles and Hadley Giles

Son-in-law Chuck Shelton of Kingston

Several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends

The family will receive friends 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm, Friday, September 26, 2025 at Fraker Funeral Home with funeral service following at 1:00 pm, in the chapel with Rev. Dennis Armes officiating. Interment will follow the service at Kingston Memorial Gardens. Online register book can be signed at www.FrakerFuneralHome.net. Fraker Funeral Home of Kingston in charge of arrangements.
