Delmas Lawrence Lassiter Jr., peacefully passed away at home leaving behind a life lived fully on his own terms.
A proud and hardworking man, Delmas retired from Plant Vogtle as a maintenance foreman and later from Abbott Labs. Outside of work, he was a true free spirit-a life long lover of cars, speed and the open road.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years Cyndy Lassiter, and his children: Lydia Phillippi of Wisconsin, Julie Carpender of Missouri, Janie Lassiter of Florida and James Lassiter of Florida, as well as grandchildren and extended family.
Delmas was known to many as Del, Dick, Dicky and to some as Dad but he leaves behind a legacy of resilience, a love of all things automotive and unshakable desire for travel, adventure and living life on his own terms.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who have offered support and prayers during this time. In accordance with Delmas' final wishes, arrangements will be private and held at a later date.
