Delois Brown Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by The House of Day Funeral Service, Inc. on May 20, 2025.
LIFE STORY OF DELLOIS BROWN
Delois Brown was born on October 26, 1937, to Lewis and Mattie (Rabb) Bradley Sr. in Evergreen, Alabama. She was the fifth of six children born to this union. She departed this life on May 19, 2025, at her home. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis & Mattie Bradley; siblings, Wynona Johnson, Lewis Bradley, Jr, Voncile Baker, and James Bradley; and daughter, Gail Brown.
Delois married Odell Brown Sr. in the late 1950s. She gave birth to five children, Janice, Odell Jr., Gail, Shelia, and Aaron. She loved her children deeply and gave them wisdom, knowledge, and a strong work ethic. She spent her days pouring into her children and grandchildren.
Delois claimed Christ as her Savior at a young age in Evergreen, AL. There she sang in the church choir. After moving to Toledo, OH, she served the Lord in many there. For the last 20 years, she was a faithful member of Mt. Nebo MBC in Toledo, OH, where her service culminated on the Mother's Board.
Delois graduated high school from Conecuh County Training School in Evergreen, AL. She lived her life in the service of others. She provided in-home childcare for her grandchildren and other children in her neighborhood. Her services assisted these families in working outside the home. She often carried the concerns of others in prayer.
Delois left this life on her own terms. She was firm and definitive about what she did not want at the end of life. She laughed with her family often, up to the day before taking her last breath.
Delois leaves to cherish her memory, sister, Rosetta Bradley; children: Janice (Beamon) Pleasant of Evergreen, AL; Odell (Joanna) Brown Jr. of Detroit, MI; Shelia Brown and Aaron Brown of Toledo OH; grandchildren: Tifhanie Michael and Christopher Brandon, of Evergreen AL; Beamon Bradley and Maurice Bradley of Pensacola, FL; Odell Brown III and T'trra Wilson of Toledo, OH; Branden Brown, Candace Brown and Preston Brown of Columbus, OH; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
