Delois “Dodie”Hagan Wellman, 98, of Owensboro passed away Friday, October 24, 2025 at the home of her son, while under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. She was born in Spencer County, Indiana to Alfred and Lela Hagan. Mrs. Wellman was a graduate of Rockport High School.
She married her late husband Robert E. Wellman on January 1, 1948, in Owensboro, KY. Dodie was a wife, mother and St Louis Cardinal fan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Ellis Wellman in 1983; sons, Mike Wellman and David Wellman; sisters, Edna Jackson and Ruby Young; brothers, Jim, Floyd and Bobby Hagan; and grandchildren, infant Leslie Ann Wellman and Nathan Wellman.
She is survived by her son Bill Wellman and wife Pat; her grandchildren, Justin Wellman, Andrea Kirkpatrick (David), Nick Wellman (Jennifer), Rob Wellman, and Ross Wellman (Natalie); great-grandchildren, Saylor Kirkpatrick, Laney Kirkpatrick, Kirsten Wellman, Easton Wellman, Gavin Wellman, Riley Ann Wellman, Riley Grace Wellman and Vivian Wellman; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank her hospice caregivers, Amy, Sandy and Sarah for their wonderful care and comfort. They are deeply appreciated.
A private service will be held for family. Burial will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
