Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory - OwensboroDennis Sollman, 73, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital with family members by his side. The Ft. Branch, Indiana native, was born April 19, 1952, to the late Edwin and Ina May Sollman. Dennis graduated from Ft. Branch High School in 1970 where he played basketball for the “Mighty Twigs”. He graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in business. Dennis continued to be a faithful Indiana Hoosier fan, being a season ticket holder for their football and basketball teams for over 40 consecutive years and was a member of the Hoosier Hundred.
After graduation, Dennis worked as an insurance adjuster for Crawford and Company and Ohio Casualty insurance companies. During his last fourteen years before retirement, he drove a school bus for Daviess County Public Schools. Dennis enjoyed going back to Bloomington, watching sports on T.V., traveling, eating out, relaxing in his recliner, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 44 years, Lynn; two sons, Chris Sollman and Aaron Sollman (Laura); two daughters, Heather Hall (Scot) and Alli Sollman; seven grandchildren, Melanie Wick, Tanner Wick, Kyler Sollman, Kaden Sollman, Kelby Sollman, Rex Gray, and Ruby Sollman; sister, Linda McKimmy.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Entombment will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
