Kermit Keith Sollman II, 44, of Mt. Vernon passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Deaconess Hospital. Kermit was born in Oakland City on January 12, 1979, the son of Kermit and Brenda (Smith) Sollman.
Kermit was a farm machinery mechanic and worked for Juncker Brothers in Mt. Vernon for several years. He loved his job and enjoyed the many years he worked there and all the customers he met during his years there. When he wasn't working on a tractor, he enjoyed watching races including Nascar, but loved his sprint car racing. He also liked tractor and truck pulls and watching the 49ers. When he could get outside he could be found fishing, riding ATVs, or hanging by a bonfire with friends.
He is survived by his children, Sidney and Wesley Sollman; parents, Kermit and Brenda; brother, Tracy Sollman; half-siblings, Kevin (Kim) Smith, Johnny Smith, and Renee (Jeff) Thread. He is preceded in death by his half-brother, Donnie Gene Smith, and partner Breanna Stull
A visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 4 to 7 pm at Denning Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Family and Friends are invited to share special memories at 7 pm.
