Delon Orlando Edwards, born on December 24, 1975, in Morant Bay, St. Thomas, Jamaica, West Indies, was a cherished son of Kenneth and Marlene Edwards. At the age of 17, Delon migrated from Jamaica, settling in Queens, New York, where he began a new chapter of his life. In 2013, he and his family moved to West Orange, New Jersey.
Delon's professional journey began as an airline customer service representative for Trans State Airlines, where his natural warmth and charisma led to the cultivation of meaningful friendships and opportunities for others. Despite maintaining a full-time work schedule, Delon's dedication to his education saw him graduate from the New York Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1998.
He went on to work as a Finance Manager at G.T.A. in Manhattan, where he formed lasting bonds with his colleagues. Delon's passion for learning didn't stop there; his curiosity eventually led him into the life insurance industry, where he made a positive impact while working at Bankers Life Insurance Company.
Known for his humility, respectfulness, and genuine kindness, Delon touched the lives of everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. His love for traveling, cooking, and entertaining reflected his adventurous spirit, while his passion for sports, the outdoors, and photography allowed him to capture and share life's beauty with those around him. Whether hiking, fishing, or simply enjoying a sunrise or sunset, Delon's talent for photography was a reflection of his appreciation for life's quiet, meaningful moments.
Above all, Delon's greatest joy was found in his family. He cherished making memories with his loved ones and his loyal dog, Muffin, who was a constant source of companionship.
Delon was preceded in death by his grandmother, Francis Baxter, and his brother, Emerson Edwards. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 20 years, Tracy Edwards; his beloved children, Kayla and Darius Edwards; his mother, Marlene Edwards; his brother, Kevin (Natae) Edwards; his mother-in-law, Myrna Fowles; and his Aunt, Alsie McNaught. Delon's memory will also be treasured by his nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and a wide circle of friends who will continue to hold him close to their hearts.
Delon lived his life with warmth, love, and integrity, leaving a legacy that will be cherished forever by those who knew him.
