DeLores Bicker, 90, of Baileyville, passed away Monday August 18, 2025, at Parkview Home, Freeport. DeLores was born on August 30, 1934, in Freeport, IL., the daughter of Bill and Lena (Hassabrock) Kampen. DeLores was a Forreston High School graduate. She married Marlin Bicker on March 21, 1954, in Forreston. They lived on the same farm in the Baileyville area all their married lives. They raised hogs and milked cows for many of those years. For the majority of that time, DeLores worked alongside him and assisted with all those tasks. They raised two children on this family farm - Craig and Deb. They were married for 56 years until Marlin passed away in 2011.
DeLores also worked 25 years in the Activities Department at Stephenson Nursing Center where she loved spending time with the residents and trying to help them all feel at home and valued. She retired from that position in 2005. Staying busy and involved was what DeLores loved, so she began volunteering weekly at the Freeport Memorial Hospital. She did that for many years.
DeLores was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Shannon for 70 plus years. She enjoyed serving on various committees, teaching Sunday School, and being a part of the UMW.
Surviving DeLores is her daughter Deb Sweeney (Dave). Grandchildren - David Foust (Oscar Cruz), Justin Foust (Crissy), Jared Bicker (Kari), Jennifer Nolte (Michael), and KaLena Foust.
The extra love of her life, the great grandchildren - Evie and Meya Bicker, Corinne, Wyatt, and Kate Nolte, Paige Foust and Kylie Foust. Numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Preceding DeLores in death were her parents Bill and Lena, in 2005 her son, Craig, in 2011 her husband, Marlin, and in 2019 son-in-law, Dave Foust. Brother Paul Kampen and sister-in-law Lois.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday August 23, 2025, at Bethel U.M.C in Shannon, IL with Rev. Jeremiah Lee officiating. Visitation from 9:30 until the time of service at the church.
