Delores T. Jordan

Delores T. Jordan, 90, of Bloomfield, Connecticut, departed this life to be with the Lord on Friday, November 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Delores was born in Richmond, Virginia, on May 12, 1935, to Elijah Temple and Rachel Harris, and was raised by her loving stepmother Flossie Temple. Delores moved to Connecticut from Virginia in the early sixties.
Delores was a woman of many professions, mostly taking pride in her work at Pratt & Whitney as a Lead Material Coordinator, retiring after 25 years in 1999. Delores took pride in her crafts, supplying handmade flower arrangements and centerpieces for major events and gifting crochet hats and scarves during the cold winter months. She also had an affinity for caring for various animals, finding a particular affection for her beloved birds and guinea pigs. She also helped organize the Manor House Chapter of the Connecticut Tenants Union and was a member of the Eastern Star.
Delores, and her husband Walter, were married for a fruitful 30 years, filled with quick-witted banter and small acts of love that further signified their devotion to each other. From their union, they built a large, beautiful, blended family centered around faith, prayer, and love. Delores was known by many names: Ma, Mommy, Grandma, little people, D-Lo, Dee, Midget, Headache, Mama Go, and others of affection.
Delores was a Missionary and Deaconess at Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church.
In her precious memory, she leaves behind her children: Theresa Temple, Edward Temple, Miles Butler Sr. (Linda), Maurice Butler, and Flora Butler. Stepchildren: Earl Jordan, Donnie Jordan, Walter Jordan, Jerome Jordan, Cynthia Wilson, Vincent Jordan, Regina Harrison, Rozina Harrison-Welborn (Oral), and their families. Grandchildren: Jerome Betsey Sr., Theron Betsey (Morgan), Takisha Womack, Latoya Butler, Miles Butler Jr. (Emily), Andrew Butler, Cheyenne Chappelle-Butler. Great-grandchildren: Jerome Betsey Jr., Kenya Womack, Darrell Womack Jr., Aiyana Betsey, Liam Wolford, and Miles Butler III, and a host of family and friends.
Delores was predeceased by her parents, Elijah and Flossie Temple, and Rachel Harris; her husband, Walter Jordan; and her siblings, Marion Harris, Elsie Colvin, Doris Brevard, Roger Temple; and her grandson, Devon Butler.
